How to Test an Email Before Sending
Learn how to send test emails to verify how your email campaigns look before sending to your full contact list. Testing helps ensure emails display correctly and look professional.
Before You Begin
- You must be logged in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com
- You need permission to manage emails (typically organization owners and admins have this permission)
- An email campaign created (or in progress)
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Email Campaign
- Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
- From the dashboard, go to Emails (or Marketing → Emails)
- Find the email campaign you want to test
- Click on the campaign to open it
What happens next: You'll see the email campaign editor.
Step 2: Create or Edit Email
Create your email campaign (if not already created):
- Enter email subject
- Write email content
- Add images or formatting
- Configure email settings
Or edit existing campaign:
- Make changes to email content
- Update subject or body
- Adjust formatting
Note: Create or edit your email before testing.
Step 3: Find Send Test Option
- Before sending to full list, look for Send test email button
- This option is typically:
- Near the Send button
- In email preview section
- Before final send confirmation
Note: Send test email option lets you test before sending to your list.
Step 4: Enter Test Email Address
Click Send test email:
- Test email dialog will open
- Field for email address
Enter your email address:
- Type the email address where you want to receive test
- Example: "yourname@example.com"
- Use your own email address
- You'll receive test email at this address
Note: Enter the email address where you want to receive the test.
Step 5: Send Test
- Review test email details:
- Email address is correct
- Campaign is ready to test
- Click Send test (or Send)
- Test email will be sent
- You'll see a confirmation
- Test email is queued for sending
What happens next: Test email will be sent and:
- Delivered to your email address
- Shows how email looks to recipients
- Includes all formatting and content
- Helps you verify email appearance

Check your email inbox:
- Look for test email
- Open the email
- Review how it looks
