How to Import Reviews from Google

Learn how to import customer reviews from Google Business into your Zipper account. Imported reviews can be published on your website to showcase customer feedback and build trust.

Before You Begin

• You must be logged in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com
• You need permission to manage reviews (typically organization owners and admins have this permission)
• Google Business integration connected (required for importing Google reviews)

Steps

Step 1: Connect Google Business Integration

1. Connect Google Business (if not already connected):
   • Go to Organization Management → Integrations → Google Business
   • Click Connect Google Business
   • Authorize Zipper to access Google Business
   • Select which locations to connect
   • Complete connection

Important: Google Business integration must be connected before you can import reviews.

Step 2: Navigate to Reviews

1. Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
2. From the dashboard, go to Reviews (or Marketing → Reviews)
3. You'll see your reviews list

What happens next: You'll see existing reviews (if any) and import options.

Step 3: Open Import Reviews

1. On the Reviews page, look for Import Reviews button or option
2. Click Import Reviews (or find import option)
3. The import interface will open

What happens next: You'll see options to select review source.

Step 4: Select Google as Source

1. Select platform:

   • Choose Google as the review source
   • Google Business reviews will be imported
   • Reviews from connected Google Business locations

2. Review source options:

   • Google Business (if connected)
   • Other platforms may be available

Note: Only connected platforms will appear as import sources.

Step 5: Start Import

1. Click Import Reviews:

   • Import process will begin
   • Reviews will be fetched from Google Business
   • Import may take a moment

2. Wait for import to complete:

   • Progress indicator shows import status
   • Reviews are fetched and processed
   • Import completes automatically

What happens next: Reviews will be imported and:

• Appear in your reviews list
• Include review details (rating, text, author, date)
• Available for publishing
• Linked to Google Business locations

Step 6: Review Imported Reviews

1. View imported reviews:

   • See all imported reviews in your list
   • Review details include:
     • Rating (stars)
     • Review text
     • Author name
     • Date
     • Location (if multiple locations)

2. Review status:

   • Reviews are imported but not published by default
   • You can publish or unpublish reviews
   • Reviews are ready for publishing

Note: Imported reviews need to be published before they appear on your website.

Managing Imported Reviews

After importing, you can:

1. Publish reviews: Make reviews visible on your website
2. Unpublish reviews: Hide reviews from your website
3. Reply to reviews: Respond to customer feedback
4. Organize reviews: Filter by rating, date, or location
5. Re-import: Import reviews again to get latest reviews

• Import reviews regularly to get the latest feedback
• Review imported reviews before publishing
• Publish positive reviews to build trust
• Reply to reviews to show engagement
• Organize reviews by location if you have multiple locations

Troubleshooting

Problem: I don't see the Import Reviews option Solution: Check that:

• You have permission to manage reviews
• Reviews feature is enabled
• You're viewing the Reviews page

Solution: Contact your organization owner if you need access to reviews.

Problem: I can't import from Google Solution: Check that:

• Google Business integration is connected
• Integration is active and authorized
• Google Business locations are connected

Solution: Connect Google Business integration first. Go to Organization Management → Integrations → Google Business.

Problem: Import fails Solution: Check that:

• Google Business integration is working
• Locations are properly connected
• Import service is available

Solution: Verify Google Business integration is connected and active. Try importing again or contact support.

Problem: Reviews aren't importing Solution: Check that:

• Google Business has reviews
• Locations have reviews available
• Import process completed successfully

Solution: Verify Google Business locations have reviews. Check import status and try again if needed.

Problem: Duplicate reviews are imported Solution: The system handles duplicates:

• Duplicate reviews are merged automatically
• Same review won't appear twice
• Import is safe to run multiple times

Solution: Duplicate handling is automatic. You can import multiple times safely.
