How to Generate a Report

Learn how to generate reports to analyze your business performance. Reports provide detailed insights into payments, events, classes, scheduling, CRM, marketing, and SEO.

Before You Begin

  • You must be logged in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com
  • You need permission to view reports (typically organization owners and admins have this permission)
  • Data to analyze (payments, events, customers, etc.)

Steps

Step 1: Navigate to Reports

  1. Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
  2. From the dashboard, go to Organization Management → Reports (or Analytics → Reports)
  3. You'll see report options

What happens next: You'll see available report types.

Step 2: Select Report Type

  1. Choose the report type you want to generate:

    • Payments: Payment transactions and revenue
    • Events/Classes: Event and class registrations
    • Scheduling: Appointment and schedule data
    • CRM: Customer and roster information
    • Marketing: Email and SMS campaign performance
    • SEO: Keyword rankings and SEO metrics
  2. Select report type:

    • Click on the report type you want
    • Report configuration will open

Note: Different report types provide insights into different areas of your business.

Step 3: Configure Report Settings

  1. Set date range:

    • Choose Date Range selector
    • Select custom range or preset:
      • Last week: Past 7 days
      • Last month: Past 30 days
      • Last year: Past 12 months
      • Custom: Specific date range
    • Example: Select "Last month" or "January 1 - March 31, 2024"
  2. Apply filters (if available):

    • Filter by specific criteria
    • Example: Filter by product, customer, or event type
    • Narrow down report data
  3. Select metrics to include:

    • Choose which metrics to include in report
    • Select relevant data points
    • Customize report content

Note: Date range and filters help you analyze specific time periods and data subsets.

Step 4: Generate Report

  1. Review your report configuration:
    • Report type is selected
    • Date range is set
    • Filters are applied (if needed)
    • Metrics are selected
  2. Click Generate Report
    • Report will be generated
    • Processing may take a moment
    • You'll see report results

What happens next: Report will be generated and:

  • Data is analyzed and compiled
  • Results are displayed
  • Report shows insights and metrics
  • Available for viewing and export

Step 5: View Report Results

  1. Review report data:

    • See analyzed metrics and insights
    • View charts and graphs (if available)
    • Review detailed data tables
    • Understand business performance
  2. Report information:

    • Summary metrics
    • Detailed breakdowns
    • Trends and comparisons
    • Actionable insights

Note: Reports help you understand your business performance and make data-driven decisions.

Step 6: (Optional) Export Report

  1. Export report data (if available):

    • Click Export or Download
    • Choose export format (CSV, Excel, PDF, etc.)
    • Download report data
  2. Use exported data:

    • Analyze in external tools
    • Share with team members
    • Create custom visualizations
    • Store for record keeping

Note: Exports help you use report data in other tools and systems.

Troubleshooting

Problem: I don't see the Reports page Solution: Check that:

  • You have permission to view reports
  • Reports feature is enabled
  • You're logged into the correct organization

Solution: Contact your organization owner if you need access to reports.

Problem: Report generation fails Solution: Check that:

  • Report type is selected
  • Date range is valid
  • Data exists for the selected period
  • Report service is available

Solution: Verify report settings and ensure data exists. Try generating again or contact support.

Problem: Report shows no data Solution: Check that:

  • Data exists for the selected date range
  • Filters aren't excluding all data
  • Date range includes periods with data

Solution: Adjust date range or filters. Verify data exists for the selected period.

Problem: I can't export report Solution: Check that:

  • Export feature is available
  • Report was generated successfully
  • Export format is supported

Solution: Verify report was generated. Try different export formats if available.
