Why Site Updates Aren't Showing (Caching)
If you've published changes to your site but don't see them when you visit, caching is usually the cause. This article explains why this happens and how to resolve it.
Why This Happens
When you visit a website, your browser and our CDN (Content Delivery Network) save copies of the pages to load them faster on future visits. When you publish updates, these cached copies may still be served for a short time.
How Long to Wait
After publishing, please wait 2-3 minutes for caches to clear. In most cases, your changes will appear automatically after this brief window.
Quick Fixes
Option 1: Hard Refresh Your Browser
Force your browser to bypass its cache:
- Windows/Linux: Press
Ctrl + Shift + RorCtrl + F5 - Mac: Press
Cmd + Shift + R
Option 2: Clear Browser Cache
- Open your browser settings
- Find "Clear browsing data" or "Clear cache"
- Select "Cached images and files"
- Clear the cache
- Refresh your site
Option 3: Open in Incognito/Private Window
- Open a new incognito or private browsing window
- Visit your site URL
- You should see the latest version
Still Not Seeing Updates?
If updates still don't appear after 5 minutes:
- Verify you published: Go to Sites, select your site, and check that you clicked "Publish"
- Check the right URL: Make sure you're viewing the live site, not a preview
- Try a different device: Test on your phone or another computer
Tip
If you frequently make changes, consider keeping an incognito window open for testing. Incognito mode doesn't use cached files, so you'll always see the latest version.
