How to Edit a Class Time After Creating It

Made a mistake when scheduling a class? You can edit the time slot for existing classes. Here's how.

Editing a Single Class Session

If you need to change the time for just one occurrence:

Step 1: Find the Class

  1. Go to Calendar in the left sidebar
  2. Navigate to the date of the class you want to change
  3. Click on the specific class session

Step 2: Edit the Time

  1. Click Edit on the class details
  2. Find the Time or Schedule section
  3. Change the start time and/or end time
  4. Save your changes

Step 3: Notify Registrants (Optional)

If people are already registered:

  1. Consider sending an email to registrants about the time change
  2. Use the "Send" button on the registrations list

Editing a Recurring Class Series

If you need to change the time for all future sessions:

Step 1: Go to Class Settings

  1. Go to Calendar > Classes (or Schedule settings)
  2. Find the class series you want to modify
  3. Click to edit the class settings

Step 2: Edit the Time Slot

  1. Find the Schedule or Time Slots section
  2. Edit the time for the recurring schedule
  3. Specify whether changes apply to:
    • All future sessions
    • Just this session
    • This session and all future sessions

Step 3: Save Changes

  1. Save your changes
  2. Review the calendar to confirm the new times appear correctly

What Happens to Existing Registrations

When you change a class time:

  • Registrations are kept: Customers remain registered for the class
  • Notifications: You may need to manually notify customers of the change
  • Calendar updates: The class appears at the new time on the calendar

Tips

  • Double-check times: Review both start and end times
  • Consider time zones: Make sure you're setting the correct time for your location
  • Communicate changes: Always notify registered customers about time changes
  • Update your website: If the class schedule is displayed on your site, verify it updates

Troubleshooting

Can't edit the time?

  • Make sure you have the correct permissions
  • Check if the class is in the past (past classes may have restrictions)

Changes not showing?

  • Refresh the calendar view
  • Clear your browser cache if needed

Canceling Instead

If the time change is significant and you'd rather cancel and recreate:

  1. Cancel the existing class session
  2. Notify registrants about the cancellation
  3. Create a new class at the correct time
  4. Invite previous registrants to re-register
