How to Create a QR Code for Your Event Page

QR codes make it easy for people to quickly access your event registration page using their phone. Here's how to create one.

Step 1: Get Your Event URL

  1. Go to Calendar in Zipper
  2. Find and click on your event
  3. Look for the public event link or registration URL
  4. Copy the full URL (it will look something like https://yoursite.joinzipper.com/o/your-org/events/event-id)

Step 2: Generate the QR Code

Use a free QR code generator:

  1. Go to qr.io or any QR code generator
  2. Paste your event URL
  3. Customize if desired (colors, logo, etc.)
  4. Download the QR code image

Other Free QR Code Generators:

  • QR Code Generator
  • QRCode Monkey
  • Canva QR Code Generator

Step 3: Use Your QR Code

Place your QR code on:

  • Flyers and posters: For physical locations
  • Business cards: For networking events
  • Social media: As part of promotional graphics
  • Email signatures: Easy registration access
  • Signage: At your studio or venue

Tips for Effective QR Codes

  • Test it first: Scan the QR code with your phone to verify it works
  • Make it big enough: At least 1 inch x 1 inch for printed materials
  • Add context: Include text like "Scan to Register" near the QR code
  • High contrast: Use dark colors on light backgrounds for best scanning
  • Don't stretch it: Keep the QR code square, not distorted

What Happens When Someone Scans

  1. Their phone camera detects the QR code
  2. They tap the notification/link
  3. They're taken directly to your event registration page
  4. They can register immediately

Creating QR Codes for Other Pages

You can create QR codes for any Zipper URL:

  • Products page: /o/your-org/products
  • Schedule/classes: /o/your-org/schedule
  • Appointment booking: /o/your-org/appointments
  • Gift card purchase: /o/your-org/gift-card

Just copy the URL and generate a QR code the same way.

Tracking QR Code Scans

If you want to track how many people scan your QR code:

  1. Use a URL shortener with analytics (like Bitly)
  2. Create a shortened link for your event URL
  3. Generate the QR code using the shortened link
  4. View scan statistics in the URL shortener's dashboard
