How to Create a Location

Learn how to create physical, virtual, or hybrid locations for your business. Locations help you organize services by where they're offered and show customers where appointments, classes, and events take place.

Before You Begin

  • You must be logged in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com
  • You need permission to manage locations (typically included in schedule management permissions)
  • Location details ready (name, address, or meeting link)

Steps

Step 1: Navigate to Locations

  1. Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
  2. Go to Organization Management → Locations (or Settings → Locations)
  3. You'll see your existing locations (if any)

What happens next: You'll see the locations management page.

Step 2: Open Create Location Form

  1. On the Locations page, look for Add Location or Create Location button
  2. Click the button
  3. A form or modal will open

What happens next: You'll see fields to enter location information.

Step 3: Enter Location Name

  1. Name: Enter a clear name for your location (required)
    • This is what customers will see
    • Example: "Main Studio", "Downtown Location", "Virtual Sessions"
    • Make it descriptive and easy to identify

Note: Location names help customers identify where services take place.

Step 4: Select Location Type

  1. Type: Choose the location type:

    • Physical: Location with a physical address
    • Virtual: Online location with meeting link
    • Hybrid: Location supporting both physical and virtual options
  2. How to choose:

    • Physical: For in-person services at a specific address
    • Virtual: For online services via video call
    • Hybrid: For services that can be either in-person or online

Note: Location type determines what information you'll need to provide.

Step 5: Enter Location Details

If Physical Location:

  1. Address: Enter the physical address
    • Street address
    • City, state, zip code
    • Country
    • You can use address autocomplete if available

If Virtual Location:

  1. Meeting Link: Enter the virtual meeting link

If Hybrid Location:

  1. Enter both:
    • Address: Physical address (optional but recommended)
    • Meeting Link: Virtual meeting link (optional but recommended)

Note: Provide as much detail as possible to help customers find your location.

Step 6: Save Location

  1. Review all the information:
    • Name is clear and descriptive
    • Type is correct
    • Address or meeting link is provided (as appropriate)
  2. Click Save (or Create Location)
    • The location will be created
    • You'll see it appear in your locations list
    • You'll see a confirmation

What happens next: Your location will be created and:

  • Available for assignment to appointment types
  • Available for assignment to events and classes
  • Visible to customers during booking
  • Ready to use across your services

Using Locations After Creation

After creating locations, you can:

  1. Assign to appointment types: Map locations to specific appointment types
  2. Assign to events: Set location for events
  3. Assign to classes: Set location for class sessions
  4. Update locations: Edit location details as needed
  5. Delete locations: Remove locations if no longer needed

Tips

  • Use clear, descriptive names so customers know where services are
  • Provide complete addresses for physical locations
  • Test meeting links for virtual locations
  • Create separate locations for different physical spaces
  • Update locations if addresses or links change
