How to Connect Stripe

Learn how to connect Stripe to your organization to enable payment processing for products, subscriptions, appointments, classes, and events. Stripe integration is required for paid products and enables secure payment processing.

Before You Begin

  • You must be logged in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com
  • You need permission to manage organization integrations (typically organization owners have this permission)
  • A Stripe account (create one at https://stripe.com if you don't have one)

Steps

Step 1: Navigate to Integrations

  1. Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
  2. From the dashboard, go to Organization Management → Integrations
  3. You'll see available integrations including Stripe

What happens next: You'll see the integrations page with connection options.

Step 2: Find Stripe Integration

  1. On the Integrations page, find Stripe in the list
  2. You'll see:
    • Stripe integration card or section
    • Connection status (Connected or Not Connected)
    • Connect or Authorize button if not connected

Note: If Stripe is already connected, you'll see connection details and options to manage it.

Step 3: Start Stripe Connection

  1. Click Connect Stripe (or Authorize or Connect)
  2. You'll be redirected to Stripe's authorization page
  3. You may need to log in to Stripe if not already logged in

What happens next: Stripe's OAuth authorization flow will begin.

Step 4: Authorize Zipper Access

  1. On Stripe's authorization page, you'll see:
    • What Zipper is requesting access to
    • Stripe account information
    • Authorization options
  2. Review the authorization request
  3. Click Authorize or Connect to grant access
  4. You'll be redirected back to Zipper

Note: Stripe uses secure OAuth authentication to connect your account.

Step 5: Complete Merchant Onboarding

  1. After authorization, you may need to complete Stripe merchant onboarding:
    • Business information: Enter business details
    • Bank account: Add bank account for payouts
    • Identity verification: Verify business identity
    • Tax information: Provide tax details
  2. Follow Stripe's onboarding steps
  3. Complete all required information

Important: Merchant onboarding is required to accept payments. Stripe will guide you through the process.

Step 6: Verify Connection

  1. Return to Zipper's Integrations page
  2. Check that Stripe shows as Connected
  3. You may see:
    • Connection status
    • Stripe account details
    • Options to manage or disconnect

What happens next: Stripe will be connected and:

  • Payment processing will be enabled
  • You can create paid products
  • Customers can make payments
  • Subscriptions can be set up
  • Payments will be processed securely

Using Stripe After Connection

Once connected, you can:

  1. Create paid products: Products can require payment
  2. Set up subscriptions: Recurring billing is enabled
  3. Process payments: Accept payments for services
  4. Manage payouts: Receive payments in your Stripe account
  5. View transactions: See payment history in Stripe dashboard

Tips

  • Complete merchant onboarding fully to avoid payment delays
  • Keep Stripe account information up to date
  • Monitor Stripe dashboard for payment activity
  • Test payment flows after connecting
  • Keep Stripe connection active for payment processing

Troubleshooting

Problem: I don't see the Integrations page Solution: Check that:

  • You have permission to manage organization integrations
  • You're logged in as organization owner or admin
  • Organization Management section is accessible

Solution: Contact your organization owner if you need access to integrations.

Problem: Stripe connection fails Solution: Check that:

  • You're logged into the correct Stripe account
  • Stripe account is active and in good standing
  • Internet connection is stable
  • Try disconnecting and reconnecting

Solution: Verify Stripe account status and try reconnecting. Contact Stripe support if issues persist.

Problem: Merchant onboarding isn't completing Solution: Check that:

  • All required information is provided
  • Business information is accurate
  • Bank account details are correct
  • Identity verification is complete

Solution: Complete all Stripe onboarding steps. Contact Stripe support for help with onboarding.

Problem: Payments aren't processing Solution: Check that:

  • Stripe is connected and active
  • Merchant onboarding is complete
  • Stripe account is in good standing
  • Payment methods are configured correctly

Solution: Verify Stripe connection status and complete merchant onboarding. Check Stripe dashboard for account status.

Problem: I can't create paid products Solution: Paid products require Stripe connection. Check that:

  • Stripe is connected
  • Merchant onboarding is complete
  • Connection is active

Solution: Connect Stripe and complete merchant onboarding to enable paid products.
