How to Connect LinkedIn
Learn how to connect your LinkedIn profile or page to Zipper so you can publish social media content directly to LinkedIn. Once connected, you can publish content library items and schedule posts.
Before You Begin
- You must be logged in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com
- You need permission to manage organization integrations (typically organization owners have this permission)
- A LinkedIn account with profile or page you want to connect
- Admin access to the LinkedIn profile/page
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Integrations
- Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
- From the dashboard, go to Organization Management → Integrations
- You'll see available integrations including LinkedIn
What happens next: You'll see the integrations page with connection options.
Step 2: Find LinkedIn Integration
- On the Integrations page, find LinkedIn in the list
- You'll see:
- LinkedIn integration card or section
- Connection status (Connected or Not Connected)
- Connect LinkedIn button if not connected
Note: If LinkedIn is already connected, you'll see connection details and options to manage it.
Step 3: Start LinkedIn Connection
- Click Connect LinkedIn (or Authorize or Connect)
- You'll be redirected to LinkedIn's authorization page
- You may need to log in to LinkedIn if not already logged in
What happens next: LinkedIn's OAuth authorization flow will begin.
Step 4: Authorize Zipper Access
- On LinkedIn's authorization page, you'll see:
- What Zipper is requesting access to
- LinkedIn account information
- Authorization options
- Review the authorization request
- Click Authorize or Allow to grant access
- You'll be redirected back to Zipper
Note: LinkedIn uses secure OAuth authentication to connect your account.
Step 5: Select Profile/Page to Connect
After authorization, you'll see available profiles/pages:
- List of LinkedIn profiles/pages you manage
- Profile/page names and details
- Options to select which profile/page to connect
Select which profile/page to connect:
- Choose the LinkedIn profile or page you want to connect
- You can connect profiles or company pages
- Select the one you want to use for publishing
Note: Select the LinkedIn profile or page you want to use for publishing content.
Step 6: Complete Connection
- Review your selection:
- Correct profile/page is selected
- You have access to the profile/page
- Click Complete or Connect to finish
- Connection will be finalized
- Profile/page will be connected
- You'll see a confirmation
What happens next: LinkedIn profile/page will be connected and:
- Available for publishing content
- Visible in integration settings
- Ready to use in Marketing Copilot
- Can be selected when publishing posts
Using Connected LinkedIn Profile/Page
Once connected, you can:
- Publish to LinkedIn: Publish content library items to LinkedIn
- Schedule posts: Schedule content for future publishing
- Manage profile/page: View and manage connected profile/page
- Share content: Post professional content to LinkedIn
Tips
- Connect the LinkedIn profile/page you want to use for business
- Ensure you have admin access to the profile/page
- Test publishing to verify connection works
- Keep connection active for ongoing publishing
- Reconnect if connection expires
Troubleshooting
Problem: I don't see the Integrations page Solution: Check that:
- You have permission to manage organization integrations
- You're logged in as organization owner or admin
- Organization Management section is accessible
Solution: Contact your organization owner if you need access to integrations.
Problem: LinkedIn connection fails Solution: Check that:
- You're logged into the correct LinkedIn account
- LinkedIn account has access to profile/page
- Internet connection is stable
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
Solution: Verify LinkedIn account and profile/page access. Try reconnecting if issues persist.
Problem: I can't publish to LinkedIn Solution: Check that:
- LinkedIn profile/page is connected and active
- Connection hasn't expired
- You're selecting the correct profile/page when publishing
Solution: Verify LinkedIn connection is active. Reconnect if connection has expired.
Problem: I want to disconnect LinkedIn Solution: To disconnect:
- Go to Integrations → LinkedIn
- Click Disconnect or Remove
- Confirm disconnection
- Tokens will be deleted
Solution: Disconnect LinkedIn from integrations settings. Connection can be re-established later.
