How to Connect Google Business
Learn how to connect your Google Business listings to Zipper so you can import reviews and manage your Google Business presence. Once connected, you can import reviews and access Google Business data.
Before You Begin
- You must be logged in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com
- You need permission to manage organization integrations (typically organization owners have this permission)
- A Google account with Google Business listings
- Admin access to the Google Business locations you want to connect
Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Integrations
- Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
- From the dashboard, go to Organization Management → Integrations
- You'll see available integrations including Google Business
What happens next: You'll see the integrations page with connection options.
Step 2: Find Google Business Integration
- On the Integrations page, find Google Business in the list
- You'll see:
- Google Business integration card or section
- Connection status (Connected or Not Connected)
- Connect Google Business button if not connected
Note: If Google Business is already connected, you'll see connection details and options to manage it.
Step 3: Start Google Business Connection
- Click Connect Google Business (or Authorize or Connect)
- You'll be redirected to Google's authorization page
- You may need to log in to Google if not already logged in
What happens next: Google's OAuth authorization flow will begin.
Step 4: Authorize Zipper Access
- On Google's authorization page, you'll see:
- What Zipper is requesting access to
- Google account information
- Authorization options
- Review the authorization request
- Click Authorize or Allow to grant access
- You'll be redirected back to Zipper
Note: Google uses secure OAuth authentication to connect your account.
Step 5: Select Locations to Connect
After authorization, you'll see available locations:
- List of Google Business locations you manage
- Location names and addresses
- Options to select which locations to connect
Select which locations to connect:
- Check boxes for locations you want to connect
- You can connect multiple locations
- Select all locations or specific ones
- Example: Connect "Main Location" and "Downtown Location"
Note: You can connect multiple Google Business locations and import reviews from all of them.
Step 6: Complete Connection
- Review your location selections:
- Correct locations are selected
- You have admin access to selected locations
- Click Complete or Connect to finish
- Connection will be finalized
- Locations will be connected
- You'll see a confirmation
What happens next: Google Business locations will be connected and:
- Available for importing reviews
- Visible in integration settings
- Ready to use in Reviews feature
- Reviews can be imported from connected locations
Using Connected Google Business Locations
Once connected, you can:
- Import reviews: Import customer reviews from Google Business
- Manage listings: Access Google Business listing data
- Track reviews: Monitor reviews from Google Business
- Publish reviews: Publish imported reviews on your website
Tips
- Connect all Google Business locations you want to import reviews from
- Ensure you have admin access to locations before connecting
- Import reviews regularly to get the latest feedback
- Keep connection active for ongoing review imports
- Reconnect if connection expires
Troubleshooting
Problem: I don't see the Integrations page Solution: Check that:
- You have permission to manage organization integrations
- You're logged in as organization owner or admin
- Organization Management section is accessible
Solution: Contact your organization owner if you need access to integrations.
Problem: Google Business connection fails Solution: Check that:
- You're logged into the correct Google account
- Google account has admin access to Business locations
- Internet connection is stable
- Try disconnecting and reconnecting
Solution: Verify Google account and Business location access. Try reconnecting if issues persist.
Problem: I don't see my locations Solution: Check that:
- You have admin access to the locations
- Locations exist and are active in Google Business
- Google account has proper permissions
Solution: Verify you have admin access to locations. Check Google Business settings if locations don't appear.
Problem: I can't import reviews Solution: Check that:
- Google Business locations are connected and active
- Connection hasn't expired
- Locations have reviews available
Solution: Verify Google Business connection is active. Reconnect if connection has expired.
Problem: I want to disconnect Google Business Solution: To disconnect:
- Go to Integrations → Google Business
- Click Disconnect or Remove
- Confirm disconnection
- Tokens will be deleted
Solution: Disconnect Google Business from integrations settings. Connection can be re-established later.
