How to Configure Notification Settings

Learn how to configure notification preferences to control how and when you receive notifications. You can enable or disable email, push, SMS, and in-app notifications for different event types.

Before You Begin

Steps

Step 1: Navigate to Notification Settings

  1. Log in to your account at https://app.joinzipper.com/auth/login
  2. From the dashboard, go to Organization Management → Notification Settings (or Settings → Notifications)
  3. You'll see notification configuration options

What happens next: You'll see notification settings with channel and type options.

Step 2: Configure Notification Channels

  1. Enable or disable channels:

    Email Notifications:

    • Toggle Email Notifications to On or Off
    • When On: You receive notifications via email
    • When Off: No email notifications are sent

    Push Notifications:

    • Toggle Push Notifications to On or Off
    • When On: You receive push notifications on your device
    • When Off: No push notifications are sent
    • Allow push notifications in your browser/device if enabling

    SMS Notifications:

    • Toggle SMS Notifications to On or Off
    • When On: You receive notifications via SMS
    • When Off: No SMS notifications are sent

    In-App Notifications:

    • Toggle In-App Notifications to On or Off
    • When On: You see notifications in the app
    • When Off: No in-app notifications are shown

Note: You can enable multiple channels to receive notifications through different methods.

Step 3: Configure Notification Types

  1. Enable or disable specific notification types:

    Form Submissions:

    • Toggle to enable/disable notifications when forms are submitted
    • Control per channel or all channels

    Payment Events:

    • Toggle to enable/disable notifications when payments are processed or fail
    • Control per channel or all channels

    Subscription Events:

    • Toggle to enable/disable notifications when subscriptions start or change
    • Control per channel or all channels

    Lead Events:

    • Toggle to enable/disable notifications when leads are created or moved
    • Control per channel or all channels

    Social Queue:

    • Toggle to enable/disable notifications when social posts are scheduled
    • Control per channel or all channels

    Blog Queue:

    • Toggle to enable/disable notifications when blog posts are queued
    • Control per channel or all channels

Note: You can customize which events trigger notifications for each channel.

Step 4: Set Preferred Notification Times

  1. Find Time Preferences section:

    • Look for Time Preferences or Notification Times settings
  2. Set preferred times:

    • Choose when you want to receive notifications
    • Set start and end times
    • Example: 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM
  3. Configure timezone:

    • Set your timezone for timing
    • Ensures notifications arrive at correct times

Note: Time preferences help you receive notifications during preferred hours.

Step 5: Save Settings

  1. Review your notification configuration:
    • Channels are enabled/disabled as desired
    • Notification types are configured
    • Time preferences are set
  2. Click Save (or Save Settings)
    • Notification preferences will be saved
    • You'll see a confirmation
  3. Settings will take effect immediately

What happens next: Notification settings will be configured and:

  • Notifications are sent via enabled channels
  • Only enabled notification types trigger notifications
  • Notifications arrive during preferred times (if set)
  • Your preferences are saved and applied

Tips

  • Enable channels you actively check
  • Disable notification types you don't need
  • Set time preferences to avoid notifications outside business hours
  • Use multiple channels for important notifications
  • Review settings regularly and adjust as needed

Troubleshooting

Problem: I don't see Notification Settings Solution: Check that:

  • You're logged into the correct organization
  • Notification settings are available for your account
  • Organization Management section is accessible

Solution: Make sure you're logged into the correct organization. Contact support if settings aren't available.

Problem: I'm not receiving notifications Solution: Check that:

  • Notifications are enabled for the channel
  • Notification type is enabled
  • Email address or phone number is correct
  • Push notifications are allowed in browser/device

Solution: Verify notification settings, enable notifications, verify contact information, and allow push notifications.

Problem: I'm receiving too many notifications Solution: Check that:

  • All notification types aren't enabled unnecessarily
  • Multiple channels aren't enabled for same types
  • Time preferences aren't set

Solution: Disable unnecessary notification types, disable redundant channels, and set time preferences.

Problem: I can't enable push notifications Solution: Check that:

  • Browser/device allows push notifications
  • Push notification permissions are granted
  • Browser supports push notifications

Solution: Allow push notifications in your browser/device settings. Grant permissions when prompted.
